Coach Prado-Ortiz,

I'm Grateful

I just want to first start off by saying how much of a blessing you have been in my life throughout my 4 years in high school at Apollo. I remember first meeting you during basketball season my freshman year and you told me to be on varsity and travel with the team. I was truly blessed and humble, but I could not have done it without God.. I love you mom and thank you for all you have done and continue to do in my life. Love you Thanks, Danielle Pitts

Mrs. Santoro,

I'm Grateful

I am very grateful to Mrs. Santoro for instilling such a love for school in my son Mikey. Everyday, and I mean, everyday, he is in such a great mood and his comment is always, "I had the best day as usual". He tells both my husband and I, that 3rd grade is the best ever! Mrs. Santoro truly understands boys and her gift is giving them time to be creative, while engaging the art of keeping their attention to the lesson at hand. She is extremely approachable to both child and parent. Love her!

Thanks,
Leta T.

Mr. King,

A Shout Out

Mr. King had a sense of humor while teaching what can be a "dry" subject - math. I appreciated how he would try to keep the students interested in what we were doing.

Mrs. Newcomb,

I'll Never Forget

My son had a particularly rough third grade year. Nancy Newcomb went above and beyond to make him feel welcome and comfortable in fourth grade. His confidence was very low when the school year started but little by little it returned and by the end of the year he was back to the confident boy he had been.

Mrs. Kern,

I'm Grateful

. I am so grateful for everything you have done to help me. You have helped me realize that, even after working with students that can be such a pain, I still want to be a teacher. You have helped me realize that I should never give up just because I don't want to do something. You are the one person that anyone can say your name and I immediately know that something good is going to be said. You are a great teacher in every way. Many people don’t see the side of you AFTER the class leaves.

Mrs. Hession,

I'll Never Forget

I find it weird how we have such a close relationship despite the fact that you never really taught any of my courses. I remember how you were the one who recommended the Lynn Kurland Books to me. I remember when I started crying out of nowhere that you were the one to console me. I remember that you were the one who was willing to listen to my story. I remember you were the one that was always asking me "How are you doing?" I am really glad I got to meet you; you're like the mother I never had.

Thanks,
Maria I.

Ms. Lorenz,

I'm Grateful

I really look forward to receivng your Friday bulletins that keep us informed and up to date with our child's progress. It has been difficult for me to go from being a stay at home mom who was always the room mom to working full time. I have missed being able to be more involved with my daughters classroom. I really appreciate the bulletins you send every Friday without fail. I love staying apprised of what Faith has been experiencing each week in class. Thanks for all you do!

Mrs. McGraw,

I'm Grateful

Even though Mrs. McGraw teaches many different classes of students a day as a high school English teacher, Art and Drama teacher she takes the time to get to know her students, how they learn best and capitalizes on their strengths. She builds a community of learners that value each other and assists students to know themselves as learners and to recognize the talents of their peers. She embraces their diversity and builds on how this leads to the strength of the community.

Thanks,

Mrs. Lemley,

A Shout Out

I am the priviledge mother of two students who have had Mrs. Lemley for 3rd grade. My older daughter was a teacher's dream always succeeding in the classroom. My youngest daughter beats to a different drum, for her learning takes time and effort. Mrs. Lemley has been able to build on my daughter's creative ability to the point it has changed not only her want to succeed and inner need to succeed, it has changed my ability to see my child as successful. Thank you Mrs. Lemley!

Ms. Kingsbury,

I'm Grateful

In the two years I was your student, I spent more time with you than my own family. You are one of those people that pushes your students to do better. Always. Not only are you an amazing academic mentor, but you also take the time to get to know your students personally. I would not be where I am today without you and am so blessed to have shared so many moments of my life with you. You will always be part of the Lardieri family. Thanks Ms. K!

Mrs. Funderburk,

I'll Never Forget

Mrs. Funderburk was my 8th grade teacher at a small Catholic school. At the time, I hated her. I thought she was mean and too tough on us. In the end though, I have her to thank for making me the teacher I am today. She taught me about setting my expectations high, never giving up but most importantly, she taught me that I was unique and to celebrate that uniqueness. Today, my teaching style is very similar to hers because I want my students to have the amazing experience I did.
